Our 8th year in Business!

MARCH 2012 the start of our 8th year in Business!

Thank you to our Wonderful customers and friends!  In the past 7 years we have built amazing relationships with all of you!  We have watched your kids grow from beginner ice skaters to collegiate ice skaters and beyond! I will save a trip down memory lane for a later blog.

For us it really is about getting to know you and how can we help.  We really enjoy working with everyone, from the beginners to the Olympians! You are all in this sport because you LOVE this sport!

So I just had to share a letter I received today from a wonderful women who has made several long drives to come see me!

Dear Kimberley,

I just wanted to write to thank you so much for taking the time to fit me with skates and gear.  As an adult coming to skating later in life, I really appreciate all your patience and wisdom.  The skates are working out really well! The coaches at the ice arena approve, and I have even been invited to be a part of my first Ice Show. Can you believe it? Tiaras are required, and I am totally psyched.  I am recommending you to all I meet, and I hope you have a wonderful time at the next competition. Thanks again for all your help. I look forward to purchasing more items from your excellent selection in the future!

Best wishes,

Claire

Thank you Claire and I hope to see pictures of you in the Ice Show with your tiara on!!
We hope to see as many of you as possible tomorrow at Denver Invitational!

Headed to Aspen, with SNOW flying in Denver!

We are hitting the road tomorrow morning for Aspen for the 5th Annual Aspen Invitational at the Lewis Ice Arena at the Aspen Recreation Center, hope to see you there!

I had to share a nice e mail that I received, it is always fun to hear from the wonderful people we meet when we are on the road.  This e mail from Tom from Bryan Texas was a wonderful follow up after meeting him, his wife, daughter and grandson at Fort Collins for Midwesterns.  He and his wife celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary while they were there. He stopped by the booth to surprise her with a gift she had seen, Thank you Tom for sharing your photos and story with us!  Happy Anniversary and many more!

It was nice meeting you in Ft. Collins.  My wife, daughter and I all purchased items from your display.

I have looked at your website and did not find what that is wanted, thus this email.

My daughter picked out and I purchased three (3) of your "door hangers" in the form of an ice skate and had the words: "Skate on Inn".  One was given to my Grandson's skating coach in Sugar Land, TX, one was given to my daughter and one was given to my wife as an additional 45th wedding anniversary gift.  My wife's door hanger is currently on our front door here in Bryan, TX.

If the item continues to be available, I would like to order another "Skate on In" door hanger.  This should be shipped to a lady I met her at a figure skating competition in NYC last September.  We have remained email friends since.
If the "Skate On In" hanger is not available, you may use the "Winter Welcome" hanger.  It would be nice if she could receive this gift by Christmas.

Thank you for your assistance.
Tom

Who are the people behind SkatersChoiceColorado.com

As most of you know my best helper is my Mom aka Sally (so now everyone knows her name).  She keeps me well organized, does an amazing job on beading, is the best tight sorter ever and keeps me grounded when I freak out!

Most of you have met my girls, Emma (the Skater, the reason Skater’s Choice started) aka Skater’s Choice Product Tester and Molly aka Skater’s Choice Shipping Manager (if you ask her).

The whole family gets involved some days, even my shhh…. don’t tell her I told you, my 98, yes I said it, my 98 year old grandmother!  Who will never see this blog, she doesn’t own nor want or would know how to turn one on.  She is awesome and I know we already put the picture up earlier, I just had to share the story.

She usually comes over twice a month to my mom’s to hang out on the weekend, yes, she still lives independently!  So while she was over we were working on photographing dresses for the web and she was sitting in chatting with us.  Mom had to take care of a few things so Gram started helping me.  Putting the dresses on the bust, turning them for the front and back photo and taking the dresses off the bust.  Some of the things she said, oh my goodness!  She had me cracking up, I laughed so hard! I kept telling her she didn’t have to help and she kept telling me she was fine and was having a good time.

When the evening was over and she was going home, I thanked her for all her hard work and she told me that she had a ball and I should definitely call her the next time I need to photograph dresses for the website!

Thanks Gram, you rock!
