Getting Ready for the 2011 Vail Invitational and Mountain Fun Competition

July 14 - 17, 2011, Sponsored by The Skating Club of Vail to be held at the

We are excited to debut some new Christmas items including two new Skate stockings and 4 different ornaments.  We have received many orders and will have them at the Skater’s Choice booth when you arrive.

We look forward to seeing everyone, we will be arriving on Wednesday July 13, for anyone that will be at the test session.

Another Broadmoor has come to a close!

We had a great time, from visiting with the Basic Skills parents on Sunday, wishing all the dad’s Happy Father’s Day and watching all of the kids realize how big that sheet of ice is and wondering where did the circles go?

Rachael Flatt stopped by several times, during one of her visits we helped out with a donation to the “Kids on Ice” program in Washington, DC.  Rachael donated several of her old skates to the program and we included some soakers.  Rachael’s mom Jody made boot bags for every pair of skates that were donated, they also included gloves and towels and we threw in some skating rings.  What a great way for all children to have a chance to experience ice skating!

We met so many wonderful people from all across the globe from here in the state to across the country, Canada and even South Africa.  Not to mention all of our familiar faces from around Colorado, Texas, Albuquerque and Arizona and I know there are more!

We congratulate ALL of the competitors for their performances, all the hard work, early mornings and dedication you have for your sport!  Remember “The hardest part of skating is the ice!”

It is time again, we are hitting the road headed for Colorado Springs!

We will be at The 2011 Broadmoor Open, hosted by the Broadmoor Skate Club

June 19 – 25, 2011

To be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906

We will arrive on Saturday June 18th for set up and be there through the competition on Saturday June, 25.  If you are going to be there please stop by and say hello, we will be featuring a new Designer, Flowerdaze with their Competitive Skatewear and Practicewear.  Also on hand will be some new fun gift items for skaters as well as all the unique skating items you are accustom to seeing in our showroom.  Please feel free to contact us on the website or send us an e mail if there are items you would like to have ready for you when you arrive at the rink.

Skate Fest 2011 Santa Fe

Thank you to the Santa Fe Skate Club and a big Thank You to Denise for invitation to this compeititon, it was so nice to see everyone and be in your home rink.  For all our friends that usually wait to see us in Colorado it was so nice to see where you call home.    It was great to see Tawny, Ken and Cherie the made sure I was well taken care of.  Also a big Thank you to Jeannie, Janette, Carl and Danielle for checking in on me and allowing me a break.   What a beautiful facility thank you to all the staff as well for keeping a watchful eye on us and for the warm welcome.  It was also nice to see our Colorado official Kim while we are on the road too.

What's up next Broadmoor Open, we will see you there.

Santa Fe we are on our way!

Skater’s Choice has been invited to attend SkateFest 2011 and FunFest 2011, May 21-22, 2011.  The competition will be held at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505.

 

We would like to thank Denise Cox with the Santa Fe Skating Club for inviting us.  We look forward to our first competition in Santa Fe and seeing our customers and friends in New Mexico.


We have already received calls for pre-orders and will deliver them to the rink.  So please feel free to give us a call or send us an e mail and we will have your order ready for you when you arrive at the competition.  We will be set up on Friday, May 20 for practice ice.


We look forward to seeing everyone at the competition and we wish all the competitors good luck and have fun!

Spring Funtastics and Colorado Showcase 2011 was Super Fun!!!!

We hope that everyone had as much fun as we did!  We saw so many people from near and far and met some wonderful new skater’s and parents too!  I would like to thank Mile High Figure Skating Association for inviting us to be a vendor and also Cheryl Brubaker for doing a great job coordinating and taking care of us.  Also a “Thank You” to Alec   and his staff for being so accommodating and helpful for setup and during the competition. 

On a side note I had to share an e mail I received after the competition from Ryan Wilcox one of our male skater’s, everyone’s continued support makes our day!  WE THANK ALL OF YOU so much for your kind words, constant support and new ideas

Hi Kim,
What a wonderful job you did on my new Alpine Skating jacket. The service from you and your Mom is always wonderful and always prompt. The quality of the jacket and the embroidery are just awesome. It is always a joy to shop with you at Skater's Choice and it's always good to see you at the Ice shows and competitions. You always have wonderful costumes and Ideas for skating costumes and apparel. I wish you much luck in the future and you are always my first choice for all of my skating needs.

Great time had by all!!!!

Skater’s Choice is back from the Fort Collins Classic, we had a great time and lots of fun with Maureen from Go Figure Skating. 
We ran into Amber Ruiz and her mom Carolyn.  Amber is an International competitor representing France and is coached by Damon Allen and has also been instructed by Surya Bonaly.  Amber skated at Ft. Collins competing at the Junior level, she placed 2nd in her Junior Free Skate program and 3rd in her Junior Short program.  Congratulations Amber!
